About Us

In 2005 Mudgee Public celebrated 150 years of continuous education to the children in Mudgee and its surrounding districts. 
Throughout those years the school has grown and developed into the outstanding school it is today.

In 2010 Mudgee Public provides education for children from Kindergarten through to Year 6.  As you will see from the detail on our website, the educational opportunities we provide for children at Mudgee Public are amazingly extensive.  However, throughout this year visitors to our school will notice many changes taking place.  The biggest changes will be in the areas of construction and our new school colours.

Throughout 2010 a range of new buildings and extensions will be erected as well as a newly designed playground area for our
Special Education Unit.

2010 will also see the introduction of our new school uniform and therefore our new school colours.  After such a long history, the change from “Brown and Gold” to “Navy Blue and Gold” will not take place overnight.  While our new uniform is ready to go and all new enrolments at the school will automatically purchase the new uniform, existing families at our school have a “phase-in period” of up to 3 years and therefore have the choice of changing to the new uniform now or doing so during the 3 year period.  In the short-term, visitors to our school will continue to see our previous uniform being worn by some children as well as signage that bears the brown and gold of the past.  Between 2010 and 2012 our school community will be working together to bring about all the changes necessary to see the smooth transition from our previous colours of brown and gold to our new colours of navy blue and gold.
