BUS ZONE
8.00 am - 9.30 am & 2.30 pm - 4.00 pm
The bus zone is along the front of the school in Perry Street. Please check for restricted parking, especially when visiting the school.
BUS FORMS
Bus forms are needed for children travelling within the town. Country people who travel from home to the bus pick up point also need a conveyance subsidy (private motor vehicle) form if the distance is more
that 1.6 km for a single journey. Country people need to know the name of the bus as several buses travel along each road.
BUS CHILDREN BEING PICKED UP
It is MOST IMPORTANT that you tell the teacher if your child will not be travelling on the bus in the afternoon. Bus children being picked up from school are always waiting for you in the bus lines, and if you have not arrived and there is not a specific note, then the school rule is that they are put on the bus to avoid confusion.
In wet weather, bus lines are in various areas of the main office building, including the verandahs.
BUSES NOT RUNNING
At times a bus may not run in the morning due to a breakdown or flooding in the area. Parents sometimes assume their child has missed the bus and run them into school. If the bus does not run that afternoon, the child may be stranded at school. If there is doubt, please check with the school to see if the bus is running.

COUNTRY SCHOOL BUSES - FLOOD CONDITIONS
When there is an emergency situation, school buses sometimes at very short notice have to leave school during the day to ensure reaching their destination. Bus drivers are advised by the emergency services when this is necessary. It is impossible to make any stipulation as to what procedures could be as there are a multiplicity of circumstances that are unforeseeable and each bus run is unique. In fact any stipulation could endanger lives more than a commonsense and localised approach. As an example, it is impossible and impracticable within time constraints to contact all parents by telephone when there are a number of children involved and further to this in such weather conditions telephones can be out of order.
To ensure that your children are safe I would suggest that you arrange a contingency plan with neighbours etc, and liaise with the appropriate bus driver. As far as practicable the drivers arrange for an announcement to be made over 2MG, our local radio station. I would encourage parents to listen to the radio when flooding is imminent.
Should you elect for your children to remain at school whenever buses have to leave early, please write a note to the class teacher and let the driver know as well. The responsibility for transport home in the afternoon will then be left to the parent. The above should clarify the matter and ensure children's safety.
