ESL students are always welcome at Mudgee Public School. When families arrive from another country they are encouraged to enrol their children in the public schools. This is sometimes done with the use of an interpreter. The school then applies for funding to aid the children to learn English. An individual programme is set up in consultation with the class teacher and the funding is gradually decreased as the children assimilate into the Australian system. It is always lovely to learn about other cultures and to use their knowledge within the classrooms.
