Gifted & Talented

At Mudgee Public School, staff members take the time to get to know you and your child well. This individual attention ensures that all students are supported throughout their schooling. Individual and group programs cater for students’ differing abilities.

Our Gifted and Talented program includes a special class for students in Years 5 and 6 who have been identified as having particular strengths in literacy and numeracy skills.



Gifted and Talented students participate in the annual Tournament of the Mind competition. These children work together on a long term challenge over six weeks and also on a spontaneous challenge on tournament day.

Other opportunities for Gifted and Talented students include debating, chess, band, choir and athletics.

We are very proud of our talented students who have achieved Regional, State as well as a National runner’s up title in Tournament of the Mind.
