One of the things that makes Mudgee Public School such a great place is our active, friendly school community. We want to make sure every family (especially new ones) has the opportunity to get involved. Volunteering at school is a great way to meet new people and your kids get a kick out of seeing you, or any other special person at school.
We have hundreds of families attending Mudgee Public School and many are new to the school this year. We would be extremely grateful if every family could nominate to do “just one thing”.
A calendar of events is available here and our volunteer form is available by clicking on the button below. You can register your availability on this form specific to the dates and events you are interested in. Please fill out this form and tick one box (or more if you wish) and enter your contact details. A P&C representative will then be in touch so you can assist with any P&C run event as it approaches. A copy of this form will also go home with the newsletter. Please return any hard copy forms to your class teacher.
Thank you in anticipation of your valuable help.

Volunteer Forms If you have not completed a volunteer form yet you can do so here and email to email@example.com or drop a copy into the front office. Alternatively, scroll up to the top of the page and click the blue button "I'd like to Volunteer" and complete on line. We're asking volunteers to try and help with just one thing throughout the year. Thank you for your help in advance.
PBL Assembly Will be held on the 29th June at 10.30am in the primary hall. P&C will have available to purchase coffee, tea, hot chocolate and cake stall.
Our Uniform Shop is On Line!! A great convenient way to shop for all your uniform needs. Click on the Uniform Shop tab above in the top menu to view a list of uniform items and prices. From there you can add items to your cart for purchase. A receipt will be emailed and there are different options to collect your items. If on line shopping is not your thing the Uniform Shop will still be open every Thursday during school terms 2.30-3.30pm.
Our Canteen Please have a look at our Canteen menu here. If you are interested in helping in the Canteen or helping with the preparation of food please let us know firstname.lastname@example.org
Fundraising is a key component for the P&C. During 2017 the P&C raised more than $20,000.00 in an effort to raise funds for new air conditioners for our classrooms. This effort will continue for 2018 as we strive to fit all classrooms with adequate heating/cooling.
If you are able to help out at all throughout the year we would love to hear from you. Volunteering for one event does not mean you have to volunteer for everything. We'd like to ask that each family volunteer for "just one thing" and we can share the load. Simply send us an email email@example.com and let us know you're interested. Your name can then be added to the list of available volunteers.
Our P & C Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month in the School Residence at 6pm. Everyone is welcome and we would love to see fresh faces and hear new ideas.

Our P&C Fundraising Group always work hard towards obtaining funds to assist many different areas of our school. All volunteers are welcome as many hands make light work. If you are interested in volunteering you can complete our volunteer form by clicking the button at the top of the page "I want to volunteer".
Some of these fundraising events include canteens at sporting carnivals, fitness fundraiser and crazy camel to name few. Our goal this year is to raise enough funds to continue replacing classroom air conditioners. Air conditioners were installed in all classrooms around 12-14 years ago by the P&C at that time. We are now seeing these air conditioners reach the end of their lives and with the hot weather we experienced at the beginning of the year it is vital we have conditions in our classrooms appropriate for effective learning. As always the P&C will continue to support other initiatives such as our healthy schools canteen policy, school spectacular and the Healthy Harold Van to name a few. We appreciate all your support in our fundraising to help make our school a great place for our children.
We are developing our "cook from scratch" initiative further in line with the Healthy Schools Canteen Policy. The policy is targets the issue of childhood obesity. Public school canteens in NSW are now required to meet the NSW Healthy School Canteen Strategy outlined by NSW Health and follow the Nutrition in Schools policy.
Information on this new policy can be found at healthy-kids.com.au
Our winter menu for Term 2 2019 looks great. You can access the menu on line. Click here for a copy of the menu.
A lot of work has been done to align our menu with the Healthy Foods Canteen Policy that all public schools must now follow. All foods are categorised into “everyday” and “occasional” food choices. We have plenty of healthy lunch options to be introduced in term 2 including pesto pasta, chicken and veggie noodle soup and mini vegie frittatas. We also have custard & fruit cups, spaghetti & cheese jaffles and fruit muffins, to name a few, as part of our winter snack menu.
Thanks to Tracey and our team of helpers in the Canteen. Though their commitment we are able to offer a great canteen service at our school. However, our Canteen is very busy. To keep up the great service to our children we would love some more volunteers, so if you have any spare time even for an hour, your assistance would be much appreciated. Please contact the P&C via email to firstname.lastname@example.org or drop into the canteen and have a chat with Tracey.
